The dragon house (drakospito) nestles just underneath Ochi’s highest peak. In southern Karystos over 20 such houses have been found, most in the region of Styra. The one that is near the summit of Ochi is the most significant.

The mountains of Cavo d’Oro are the northeast terminus of Mt Ochi. They form a long series of successive peaks that rise above the cape of Kafireas. Mt Palamidi (or Proka) with the unique ridge of Anemopyli, a wind-tossed rocky pass between the peaks of Proka (965m) and Prophetis Ilias of Cavo d’Oro (930m). 
Nowadays, the Demosaris trail is still actively used by stockbreeders and an ever-increasing number of hikers. The most attractive and least tiring route runs from the Petrokanalo Pass (954m altitude).
